Terms of Service

Last updated: August 6, 2026

Welcome to Voomba. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Voomba's website, mobile applications, and related services (together, the "Platform"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Voomba, you agree to comply with these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. If you are creating an account on behalf of a business (for example, as a salon owner), you confirm that you are authorised to bind that business to these Terms.

2. What Voomba Is

Voomba is a marketplace that connects clients with independent beauty and wellness providers ("Providers") and salons. Providers set their own prices, availability, and cancellation policies within the ranges the Platform allows. Voomba is not itself a hairdresser, beautician, or wellness practitioner, is not a party to the service agreement between a client and a Provider, and does not employ Providers unless expressly stated otherwise. Voomba's role is to facilitate discovery, booking, and payment, and to provide the trust and safety tools described in these Terms.

3. Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. You must provide accurate information when you register and keep it up to date. We verify email addresses before an account can book or accept bookings, and we may ask Providers for identity or credential documents as described in Section 7.

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, provides false information, or poses a risk to other users of the Platform, as described in Section 13.

4. Bookings & Payments

When you book an appointment, you'll see the service price, any house-call fee, Voomba's platform fee, and the total amount before you confirm. Depending on the Provider, you can pay online at the time of booking (processed securely through our payment provider, Stripe) or in person at the time of service.

  • Online payments are held and processed by Stripe; Voomba does not store your full card details.
  • A platform fee is added to every booking to operate and maintain the Platform.
  • Prices are shown in GBP (£) unless stated otherwise.
  • Valid promo codes are applied against the service and house-call subtotal before the platform fee; a promo code discount is funded by Voomba, not deducted from the Provider's earnings.

5. Cancellations & No-Shows

Each Provider sets their own cancellation notice window (for example, 24 hours) and cancellation fee percentage, shown on their profile and at checkout. These policies work as follows:

  • Client cancellations outside the notice window are free of charge.
  • Client cancellations inside the notice window incur the Provider's cancellation fee, calculated as a percentage of the booking subtotal. You'll always see the fee before you confirm a cancellation.
  • Provider cancellations never carry a fee to the client, regardless of timing — if you paid online, you'll be refunded in full.
  • No-shows. If you don't attend a confirmed appointment, the Provider may mark it as a no-show, which applies the Provider's no-show fee (which can be up to 100% of the booking). Repeat no-shows are visible to Providers and to Voomba and may affect your ability to book in future.

You can always cancel a pending or confirmed appointment before its start time — cancellation policies control whether a fee applies, not whether cancellation is possible.

6. Refunds

Where a cancellation is eligible for a refund under Section 5, we automatically issue it to your original payment method through Stripe — you don't need to request it. If an automatic refund fails for any reason, our support team will follow up to resolve it manually. Voomba's support team can also issue a partial or full refund outside the automatic flow — for example, to resolve a dispute about the quality or delivery of a service — at our reasonable discretion. Refunds typically take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank or card issuer.

7. Provider Verification & Standards

Providers may be asked to upload identity documents and, where relevant, professional certifications or insurance for review before or after approval. Approval and any "verified" indicator shown on a Provider's profile reflect the documents and information available to us at the time of review — they are not a guarantee of a Provider's ongoing conduct, qualifications, or the quality of any specific service. Clients should exercise their own judgement, particularly for house-call bookings, and can report concerns to us at any time.

8. House Calls

Some Providers offer house-call appointments at a client's home, and some appointments take place at a Provider's or salon's premises. Whichever direction the visit goes, both parties are responsible for their own safety and for behaving appropriately. Voomba is not present at, and has no control over, what happens during an appointment, and is not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from an in-person appointment except where required by law. If something goes wrong, please report it to us — serious safety concerns may result in immediate suspension of the other party's account while we investigate.

9. Reviews & Content

Clients may leave a review after a completed appointment, and Providers may respond publicly. Reviews must reflect a genuine booking experience and must not be abusive, defamatory, or fraudulent. We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law. By posting a review, photo, or other content on the Platform, you grant Voomba a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and distribute it as part of operating the Platform.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Provide false information, including about your identity, qualifications, or a booking;
  • Circumvent the Platform to arrange or pay for bookings outside Voomba once a connection has been made through it;
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against another user;
  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose, or to post fraudulent reviews or listings;
  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the Platform or other users' accounts.

Violating these Terms may result in warnings, suspension, or termination of your account, in addition to any other remedies available to us.

11. Intellectual Property

The Voomba name, logo, and Platform (excluding user-generated content) are owned by Voomba and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Platform without our written permission.

12. Suspension & Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Platform, immediately and without notice in serious cases, where we reasonably believe an account has violated these Terms, poses a risk to other users, or where required by law. Where possible, we'll tell you why. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including payment obligations for completed bookings, liability, and dispute resolution — will continue to apply.

13. Disputes Between Users

If a disagreement arises between a client and a Provider about a booking, please try to resolve it directly first. If that doesn't work, contact our support team with your booking number and we'll review the available information, including messages, booking history, and payment records, to help reach a fair outcome. Voomba's decision on refunds and account standing in connection with a dispute is made at our reasonable discretion and does not affect your other legal rights.

14. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Subject to that, to the maximum extent permitted by law, Voomba is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts or omissions of Providers, salons, or other clients, since the underlying beauty or wellness service is provided by the Provider, not by Voomba.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Platform or to legal requirements. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through the Platform before they take effect. Continuing to use Voomba after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform that can't be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you in your country of residence.
